Formado como m\u00e9dico psiquiatra, Jung se interes\u00f3 tempranamente por los fen\u00f3menos simb\u00f3licos, los sue\u00f1os y las expresiones culturales del inconsciente. Su ruptura con Freud marc\u00f3 un punto decisivo en la historia de la psicolog\u00eda profunda, ya que Jung ampli\u00f3 la concepci\u00f3n del inconsciente m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de lo personal, introduciendo la noci\u00f3n de inconsciente colectivo (Jung, 1959). Desde esta perspectiva, los s\u00edntomas y crisis vitales pueden entenderse como llamados a una transformaci\u00f3n ps\u00edquica m\u00e1s profunda (Stevens, 2001).En el \u00e1mbito cl\u00ednico, Jung otorg\u00f3 un valor central al simbolismo y a la relaci\u00f3n terap\u00e9utica como espacio de encuentro entre dos subjetividades. El an\u00e1lisis de sue\u00f1os, la imaginaci\u00f3n activa y el trabajo con im\u00e1genes permitieron abordar el sufrimiento ps\u00edquico desde una l\u00f3gica menos reductiva y m\u00e1s existencial.
