Sigmund Freud es una figura fundacional de la psicolog\u00eda moderna, no s\u00f3lo por haber creado el psicoan\u00e1lisis, sino por haber transformado radicalmente la manera en que comprendemos la vida ps\u00edquica. Nacido en 1856 en Freiberg, entonces parte del Imperio austroh\u00fangaro, Freud se form\u00f3 como m\u00e9dico neur\u00f3logo en Viena, donde comenz\u00f3 a interesarse por los s\u00edntomas hist\u00e9ricos que no pod\u00edan explicarse \u00fanicamente desde la fisiolog\u00eda. A partir de su trabajo cl\u00ednico con pacientes, Freud desarroll\u00f3 la hip\u00f3tesis de que gran parte de la vida mental es inconsciente y que los s\u00edntomas ps\u00edquicos expresan conflictos reprimidos (Freud, 1915). La labor freudiana se caracteriza por haber propuesto un modelo din\u00e1mico del aparato ps\u00edquico, organizado en torno al conflicto entre pulsiones, defensas y normas sociales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conceptos como el inconsciente, la represi\u00f3n, la transferencia y la sexualidad infantil no s\u00f3lo impactaron la cl\u00ednica psicol\u00f3gica, sino que influyeron profundamente en la filosof\u00eda, la literatura y las ciencias sociales. Freud entend\u00eda el s\u00edntoma como una formaci\u00f3n de compromiso, una soluci\u00f3n precaria entre deseos inconscientes y las exigencias de la realidad, lo que otorg\u00f3 al sufrimiento ps\u00edquico un sentido interpretable y no meramente patol\u00f3gico (Laplanche y Pontalis, 2004). Desde una perspectiva cl\u00ednica, el aporte central de Freud radica en haber concebido la palabra como herramienta terap\u00e9utica. El m\u00e9todo de la asociaci\u00f3n libre y el an\u00e1lisis de los sue\u00f1os permitieron acceder a contenidos reprimidos y resignificar la historia subjetiva del paciente. Como se\u00f1alan Roudinesco y Plon (1998), Freud no ofreci\u00f3 una teor\u00eda cerrada, sino un campo de preguntas sobre el deseo, la cultura y el malestar humano. Su legado sigue vigente en la cl\u00ednica contempor\u00e1nea, donde el psicoan\u00e1lisis contin\u00faa siendo una v\u00eda para pensar el sufrimiento ps\u00edquico como una experiencia profundamente humana y singular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
